This policy describes how the Ares the Airplane website (arestheairplane.com), operated for the children's book Ares the Airplane by Malcom Lee, handles information collected from visitors. This website is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults interested in the book.

1. Information you provide

When you join the first-flight interest list, we ask for your name, email address, and whether you are interested in the board book, paperback, or both. The form also asks for your agreement to receive book launch and preorder updates. Please do not submit children's personal information.

2. How we use it

We use the information to maintain the interest list, send updates about the book's release, availability, preorder opportunities, and related launch announcements, understand interest in the different editions, respond to inquiries when possible, and maintain site security. Joining the list does not purchase or reserve a book and does not authorize a charge.

3. Consent and unsubscribing

Signing up is voluntary. Marketing updates require the consent checkbox. You may unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by replying to an email you receive from us to request removal. We may retain a minimal suppression record to respect an unsubscribe request.

4. Wix and service providers

Our site is hosted using Wix, and the signup is designed to use Wix Forms. Wix and service providers involved in hosting, forms, security, and communications may process information on our behalf. Their systems may collect technical information such as IP address, device/browser details, and site activity to operate and protect the site. Their processing is also governed by their applicable terms and privacy notices.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Wix or integrated services may use cookies or similar technologies for essential operation, security, analytics, or other enabled features. Browser settings may let you manage cookies. We will review any nonessential analytics or advertising tools before enabling them and update this policy and consent controls as needed.

We do not intend to sell the interest-list information. We may share it with service providers performing website, email, security, and related operations, and where legally required. We do not currently collect payment-card information through the interest form.

7. Children's privacy

The book is written for young children, but the website's signup is intended for adults, not children under 13. We do not knowingly request or collect children's personal information through the interest form. If you believe a child submitted personal information, please contact us using the method below so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

8. Security and retention

We use the security features made available by our hosting and service providers, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We keep interest-list information while needed for launch communications and related legitimate purposes, or as required by law, and review deletion requests as appropriate.

9. Your choices and requests

You may request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted, subject to applicable law. Until a dedicated privacy contact address is published, reply to a launch email you receive from us to make a request. If you have not received an email, do not submit sensitive details through the interest form. We will add a dedicated contact method before broader marketing or paid orders begin.

10. Future purchases and third-party links

If paid checkout becomes available, we will update this policy to describe order, shipping, and payment processing. Paperback purchases may eventually be offered through Amazon, whose separate privacy practices apply when you leave our website.

We may update this policy as site features change. The effective date at the top indicates the current version.
